What you are actually looking at
The dullness on an older dark car is not the color giving up. It is thousands of fine scratches in the clear coat scattering light in every direction. Level that surface and the light reflects cleanly again — which is why a corrected car looks wet even when it is dry.
New cars are not exempt
Vehicles arrive from the factory and off the transporter with water spots, transport film marks and dealer-wash swirls. We correct brand-new cars regularly, including for dealers getting a vehicle ready to hand over.
Correct first, then protect
Coating over swirls locks them in for years. Correction always comes before a ceramic coating, which is why the two are quoted together — the coating is what keeps the finish you just paid for.
